Entrust/Onfido certificates
PlaySafe ID use Entrust (formally Onfido) to run the KYC (know your customer) check.
This is a photo-ID match with a further background check to understand:
- Is the user in the motion-selfie real,
- Does the user in the motion-selfie match the photo in the document,
- Is the document real and legitimate,
- Is there a history of this person existing.
If all of these criteria are true, Entrust/Onfido notify us to create a PlaySafe ID.
Note: Zero-knowledge verificationPlaySafe ID do not see or store any data, documents, or biometrics from the verification process. This is all handled by Onfido, and they only notify PlaySafe ID if the check was successful, and it if this is the first/only time they've seen this user before.
